We do eyeglasses differently here at Summerhill Eyecare. It seems like no matter where you shop, you’ll find the same brand name eyeglass frames. There’s nothing inherently wrong with these frames, either in quality or style. In fact, many people like having the logo of a licensed designer on their eyewear. However, we never liked the idea of charging a premium price for the designer royalties the larger manufacturers have to pay for these logos. We set out to find the best-looking frames we could find without the designer price tag, and we were pleasantly surprised at what was available. It turns out, there are a handful of small independent manufacturers that produce excellent quality frames that look fantastic. We found another rarity in our industry, an independent lens lab, and have begun using them exclusively. They’re small and personal, and when we call them with questions we know who we’re talking to on the phone. We think it only makes sense for a small independent eye doctor’s office to use like-minded purveyors. We like supporting them for the same reasons our patients like supporting us; we all continue to thrive when we treat our customers with kindness, integrity, and personal service.
